Description
VERY RARE RECORDINGS OF G.I. GURDJIEFF'S MUSIC
These records were recorded in 1949 in Paris. They were recorded by Madame deSaltzman and Carol Robinson. They were recorded and sold in order to raise money for the initial publishing expenses of Beelzebub's Tales. If you look closely at the photographs, you will see the following:

The title of the set is 23 pieces for the piano. The red jacket says made in France. The label on the record says made in Canada. There are two volumes. Vol 1 says Editions Janus - Paris No. 008. Vol.2 says Editions Janus-Paris No. 009. I don't know if these are serial numbers or catalogue numbers.
The authenticity of these records, the pianists Madame deSaltzman and Carol Robinson, and the reason for their creation was confirmed by Dushka Howarth in 2005. These records were acquired in the early fifties by a close friend of mine. They have been played only a few times; there are no scratches, Even the onion skin inner sleeve is there. This inner sleeve is fragile and open on almost all the sides but it has been there protecting the records.
The earliest date of one of the titles is September 29, 1925.

All of the titles are in French. I have never seen this music anyplace else.

The preprinted circular label on the record has text along the edge that says "Made in Canada". In the middle of the label, near the hole, is a mark from a hand ink stamp that says "Made in France". I have always thought that the label was preprinted in Canada and then hand stamped published in France. But I do not know which to believe except for the reasoning of why the hand stamp was put there except to correct the "Made in Canada" phrase.
