This is the just-released LP ACID RANCH - AS FOREVER. It's the follow-up to the 2002 Acid Ranch record, Some of the Magic Syrup Was Preserved. It features 19 newly unearthed, previously unreleased early tunes by Bob Pollard, Jim Pollard, and Mitch Mitchell of Guided by Voices.
The LP was pressed in a limited number of 525 copies on Pollard's own Rockathon Records and was quietly put on sale via a web link. The sale began on December 7, 2005, and every copy was sold in less than 48 hours. That means that As Forever is aleady officially SOLD OUT!
Every individual copy of As Forever features a hand-crafted album cover. Over 500 different discarded LP covers from used record stores were used and painted over the front cover, making 500+ unique Acid Ranch covers. The letters in "ACID RANCH AS FOREVER" are spaces in the paint where you can see the underlying cover's design. This particular cover was painted over Juice Newton's - Greatest Hits. On the back is a glued-on info sheet with As Forever's song list and complete lyrics. Check out the pictures for a better idea.
