Up for bid is a rare mono LP, "Evolution," by Grachan Moncur, III, featuring Lee Morgan, Jakie McLean, Bobby Hutcherson, Bob Crenshaw, and Anthony Williams. See pictures for song list. This was released by Blue Note Records (BLP 4153). LP is VG+, with several light scuffs and a couple of small light scratches on either side. LP plays with some surface noise (some intermittent crackle, tics, and pops) with no skips. The most noticeable surface noise are the five pops in the beginning of "Evolution" - I have included a sound clip of this song - from this actual LP, unaltered in any way.

LP retains a nice gloss. Interior labels are very clean. Interior labels have "New York USA" in the address. The address on the back of the jacket reads 43 West 61st St., New York 23. There is an etched ear and "Van Gelder" is stamped in the matrix on either side. This LP still sounds great - this is a really nice copy of this original LP! Includes original inner sleeve, with 43 West 61st St., New York 23 address printed at the bottom of one side (see pictures). Jacket is VG+, with a small seam split on the top seam. This starts at the front top left corner and travels toward the lip about 1 inch. All seams and corners show wear. There is light ring wear on the front and back of the jacket. There is scuffing on the front and back of the jacket. The colors on the front are still bright and the front and back retain a nice gloss. An original mono copy doesn't turn of that often!
