Description
If you've ever watched Dario Argento's Italian horror classic "Suspiria" you've probably noticed the incredible score done by Italy's famed outfit Goblin. This and Profondo Rosso are probably their best works. The material is a crazy mix of moody prog and dark funk used to highlight the intensity of Argento's film. With tons of open sections and an enormous array of synthesizers and other instruments I've never heard of, the sonic output of this album is unlike anything you've ever heard! The two stand-out cuts in my opinion are "Black Forest" (a dusty-fingers style tune with hard hitting drums and sparse arrangements ripe for the beatsmiths) and the uber-funky "Blind Concert" laden with evil funk and dripping with the promise of a producer's killing it! This album is incredibly difficult to find and is grimy start-to-finish. Should appeal to soundtrack enthusiasts, dj's and especially to the mpc monkees. Do the do, on Italo horror sleaze!
