Description

Blue Note BLP 1517 with 767 Lexington Ave. address on both labels; same address at the bottom of the back cover. Mono, deep groove on both sides. Record has "ear" and "RVG" inscribed in the dead wax. 6 tracks with leader, Melle, baritone sax; Eddie Bert, trombone; Joe Cinderella, guitar; Oscar Pettiford, bass; Ed Thigpen, drums. Rare original issue.

Cover: VG(-) to VG 9" aging scotch tape applied to the top edge, however, this seems to be covering only a 2" split. There is also a 1" split on the top edge. There is a 3" bottom edge split and a 2" split on the spine. Minor aging on the back cover with 2 small tears in the margin of the back cover from former stickers. Slight aging on the front cover as well as the back cover. Also, some slight wear on the insert edge.

Record: Fair to Good Visually the record surface has streaks of discoloration and what appear to be some light and irregular pitting in places. The result is some intervals of clicks nd crackles. All of the noise is light but audible. The music can be heard clearly through this noise. The noise occurs on all tracks. It is difficult to put an overall rating but those interested should be aware of the uneven noise described. Heavy vinyl pressing. Audibly checked.
