Description
GIGI GRYCE, Signal S 1201, deep groove pressing, RVG in dead wax.
On this 1955 recording, there are two sessions:
On side one, the musicians are Art Farmer (trumpet), Eddie Bert, Jimmy Cleveland (trombone), Julius Watkins, Gunther Schuller (french horn), Bill Barber (tuba), Gigi Gryce (alto sax), Cecil Payne, Danny Bank (baritone sax), Horace Silver (piano), Oscar Pettiford (bass), Art Blakey, Kenny Clarke (drums), Ernestine Anderson (vocal), .
The tunes are Speculation, In a Meditating Mood, Social Call, Smoke Signal, You'll Always Be the One I Love, Kerry Dance.
On side two, the musicians are Gigi Gryce (alto sax), Thelonious Monk (piano), Percy Heath (bass), Art Blakey (drums).
The tunes are Shuffle Boil, Brake's Sake, Gallop's Gallop, Nica's Tempo.
Condition of record is E-, no scuffs, no scratches, no spindle marks. On side A track 2 there are two tiny pits (flaws) in the pressing, which play through with about 12 clicks. Otherwise, this is a beautiful copy. Jacket shows slight overall wear, 4 inch tape repair top right, 6 inch seam split bottom right.

V = Very Good. Noticeable wear, visual and audible. Records with slight surface noise and/or scuffs fall into this category.
G = Good. Not really all that good. Records in this category have more significant damage or wear.
F = More severe damage, distracting surface noise. Only used in incidence of extreme rarity.
P = Poor condition, proves existence of record only.

Shipments are made on Saturday and Tuesday mornings. Records which have been paid for by 3:00 PM on the day before will be shipped on those days.
