I consider it a great honor and privilege to introduce this first record by Geraldine and Ricky. I believe Miss Murray to be one of the most outstanding young women I have met in my entire ministry-. When she was converted at age 13, she began to pray for God to use her as a person to honor Him. At age 14 God gave her, overnight, the talent of ventriloquism. She began immediately to appear before church groups, and civic clubs. Her talents continued to develop until her fame was known throughout her native state of Louisiana. She entertained even in the governor’s mansion. Disneyland offered her $375.00 per day - which is over $100,000 per year - to perform for them. Because she could not talk about her LORD, and had to work on Sundays she turned down this offer. She felt that her talent was God-given, and should be used solely to glorify Christ. It takes real dedication for a young lady to turn down fortune and fame to serve her LORD. Sometime ago she joined the E. J. Daniels Revival Team. God has marvelously used her in our United Crusades. We have always enjoyed great crowds in our area-wide revivals. But since Geraldine joined us the attendance - especially among the youth, and people who do not normally attend church - has increased from 20% to 35%. Of course when people hear the gospel, they are saved, therefore the number of conversions has likewise increased Only eternity will tell what her influence has meant in the towns and cities where we have gone. Despite her great talent and popularity, Miss Murray is a humble Christian. She knows from whence her gifts come, and gives. God all of the glory for what she is able to do. Her favorite song is “Without Him I Can Do Nothing”. When we decided to yield to many requests to make this record, I felt that we could do no better than to record her just as she appeared before large audiences in our crusades. This type of recording does not provide the excellent quality -- especially in singing -- that can be obtained in a fine recording studio. But it does something that I believe is more important - IT ENABLES THE LISTENER TO FEEL THE RESPONSE OF THE AUDIENCE, and sense the power of God. On this record you will hear one of the world’s greatest ventriloquists, and her “wooden-headed companion”. Accompanying them at the instrument is John Bos, who is recognized as being, perhaps, the greatest of all Hammond organists. Here they are for your enjoyment - Geraldine, Ricky, and Johnny! — E. J. Daniels It is with a deep feeling of gratitude and humility that I present this first record. I know, without a doubt in my mind, that this talent is of God and not of myself. I am most thankful for the opportunity to praise my Lord daily through testimony and song. I am also grateful for the gracious reception given to me by audiences everywhere. It is with a heart full of love that I thank my wonderful parents for their dedication and support. Many, many times they helped me when it was most difficult, physically as well as financially. Often they took me hundreds of miles for appearances, where even expenses were rarely met. I would have never “made it” had it not been for my dad and mother. Since God has given me the privilege of being a member of the E. J. Daniels Evangelistic Team, I have had the blessing of meeting and working with so many, wonderful ‘full-time” Christians. Our reward is being a small part in showing hundreds of lost souls the path to salvation through Jesus. If I, with my doll, and this one talent can effectively spread the word of God, just imagine what all of you, with your many talents, can do to glorify the name of our Lord. —Geraldine
