Overview: Extremely rare 1st Mono Pressing on Apple.
This soundtrack to the 1968 film was recorded in London in December 1967 & EMI's studios, Bombay between 9th-17th January 1968 . This MONO pressing contains a dedicated mono mix & dates from initial November 1968 release on the Apple Records label: APCOR 1. Matrix numbers: APCOR 1A-1 & APCOR 1B-1. The disc's original catalogue was to be 'STAP 1' and its original matrices ('AP 1A-1 & AP 1B-1' ) are still visible in each run-out.
Vinyl: Mono copies of this album are like gold dust. Beautiful rich black sheen and shine in natural light. Carefully played (I don't think it was that popular at the time!). When held up to very bright sunlight, however, numerous hairlines on both sides which downgrades the album from EX+ to EX.
Cover: Beautiful glossy condition. Light laminate circular crease on front cover bottom right hand side right on both sides made from the record. Fractionally more pronounced on the reverse (see pix). Minor laminate creasing on the spine and back of the spine (see pix). Some superficial scratches. Nice record entrance and robust spine with clear lettering. (See pix). As well as the condition, the cover is the rarity here as it has the correct 'Mono' citation on the reverse. Overall, EX+
Insert: Nice crisp two-sided clear pictures. Minor bump rather than crease in one corner, clearly pictured. EX+
Inner: Apple black inner .
