Description

Rare White Label Test Pressing of  George Harrison s Extra Texture (Read All About It ) 1975 with some provenance Matrix Nos YEX 947-1U + YEX 948-1U I bought this Test Pressing off someone who had previously worked for The Rolling Stones mainly being involved with Bill Wyman. Close inspection of the run off dead wax area reveals Side 1 " A porky none prime cut " Much more interestingly Side 2 in dead wax there is a personal message "Ooh George you`re such a Dark Horse Luv George " I`ve tried to photograph this as best as possible but suffered from reflection with camera This album was mastered by George Peckham the last one released on the Apple Label This message inscribed to George ( Harrison ) appears to be an in joke about his move away from Apple to his own label Dark Horse Records Its fair to say that this was meant to be read by George Harrison particularly as the masterer has signed off " Luv George" this being his first name as well. At some time George Harrison has given this copy to one of The Stones probably Wyman who has in turn given it to his employee ie the  person I bought it off ! The Album is near mint with only one light none sounding scratch Side one track 2 The sound is excellent it sounds as released although there are probably subtle differences as it is a White Label Test Pressing There is no sleeve just white inner with writing" George Harrison Intro B Can`t Stop Thinking About You. The Sun Came Up ? + A. I Love You ooo" This Album was mainly recorded in LA at A+M 21 April -9 June 1975 It was his 5th Studio Album sometimes called his Soul Album Released on 3 Oct 1975 reaching No 16 in GB + No 8 in USA Charts Nice George Harrison collectable that was on balance of probabilities his at the time of mastering in 1975 There are a lot of in jokes on this Album which fits in nicely with George Peckhams comment on what was shortly to become Dark Horse Records Posting immediate Will post worldwide at postage cost
