Description
The third LP by Gentle Giant (Vertigo 6360 070) was presented as a concept album, but it is easy to ignore the fact when listening to the record. This album has a heavier feel to it than the previous album, with more prominent guitar passages and strongly stated musical themes, but there is still plenty of intricacy here also. The final track 'Three Friends' is a superb piece - one of their best- and in true Gentle Giant fashion, its bassline is buried in one of the previous tracks.
This is a subsequent UK pressing of the album, as the first pressing had the swirl label. The LP was released in the USA, but with an entirely different sleeve (in fact, confusingly the design was from the first LP).
