RARE psych LP by Genesis, In the Beginning. Original copy, pressed in 1968 on the red Mercury label. Textured cover. Favorably reviewed in the great Acid Archives. According to the Archives: "They really shine on the 16-minute blowout on side two, which follows-up a few haunting verses with a long guitar solo that's exactly the opposite of what you'd expect: it's carefully constructed, like a set of short guitar solos and repeated hooks strung together rather than one long jam. Not a not of it appears to be improvised. It's not at all complicated, but that means that no time is wasted showing off, and it ends up being one of the best long solos you'll hear. The rest of the album pretty much pales in comparison, but for the one song alone it's worth owning." Not related to the Collins/Gabriel Genesis. Check out my other rare record auctions.
