Description
I don't think you will ever find again an opportunity like this one of the late great Gene Harris, and Bassist Ray Brown ( Ray Brown is on 6 of the Albums and is the headliner on 3) These two cats were known as Musician's
Musician's. This is the Mother-load,the Holy Grail of Mainstream Jazz record finds. Most of these records were factory sealed when I found them and played one time on my Thorens to record onto my reel to reel. I found this collection in a box on the floor of the Junior league thrift shop in Birmingham Michigan about 10 years ago, they have been shelved in a temp controlled library since my discovery of them. I know Gene had Detroit roots, and Birmingham is a wealthy suburb of Detroit,so it is my inclination that this collection belonged to someone who knew him well. two Albums, "Live at Otter Crest- First Set" is autographed and inscribed " To Steven,Good Listening, Gene Harris, 3/9/82 ' let me also note that the other musicians on this extremely rare recording are Jimmie Smith on drums and the very hard to find Bassist John Heard. the other Autographed and inscribed album is THE GENE HARRIS TRIO PLUS ONE. As I noted before that all of these recordings are mint to near mint, I will give you a blow by blow on each of the ten albums. This is a no reserve auction an is open to all bidders of the 50 States of the USA
All bidders from the UK and Canada must email me first (at least one day before close of auction) to get a shipping quote. If you have any questions regarding these recordings please email me.Thanks for looking and may the deepest pocket add this incredible collection to yours, This is a very rare offering of two of the Jazz worlds greatest Musicians

Front cover autographed and inscribed "To Steven,Good Listening,Gene Harris 3/9/82" - some ringwear and a little darkening because of the covers off white linen finish, but autograph is prominent and strong ink. this album is about as rare as they get, only one on ebay is this one, in fact I researched it at POPSIKE and they didn't even have the album listed at their site and they have just about every record made with auction prices realized, but not this one. There is a youtube live performance of a couple of the songs BTW
