Description
Here is a very rare collection of Items from Gene Cornish, Eric ET Thorngren, The Brass Buttons, and Eric and the Chessmen memorabilia.
This collection includes more than just Gene Cornish material. Eric Thorngren had a band prior to The Brass Buttons called Eric and the Chessmen and then went on to work with Gene Cornish with the Brass Buttons. Gene Cornish went on to work with The Young Rascals etc.
Any collector of mid 1960's garage will definetly have an interest in this lot
The 7" singles are as follows:
1. Eric and the Chessmen 'You Don't Want My Lovin' DEMO Acetate, onesided.
2. Eric and the Chessmen ' Wolly Bully'/'New Orleans' DEMO Acetate, dated 06-03-1965
3. Brass Buttons 'My Song'/He'll Take Care Of Her' Cotillion Records CO-15473 SP/ 44013
There are 6 authentic 8X10 photographs of The Brass Buttons, One of which has a typed and stapled to 'biographical note' attached.
Also there is a report card for Eric Thorngren from Sept, 1961 at Thomas R. Proctor High School in Utica, NY where Eric grew up. In that part of it there is also what seems to be a photograph from Eric at high school, as well as 2 different 'promo' cards for Eric and the Chessmen.
Previous to Eric and the Chessment they were called 'The Chessmen' and 'The Four Chessmen' of which there are a couple of items included.
There is also a very cool engraved brass on wood plaque for Eric and the Chessmen CNY fan club 1966 that ought to be of interest to someone.
Last but not least there is a letter from Fender Guitars dated 3-22-66 to Eric about his Fender Jazzmaster guitar.
There is a receipt dated 3-27-1970 from Alcor in Ithaca, NY for repair of a Fender Twin amp related to The Brass Buttons
I also have a selection of International Musician magazines from 1964-65 addressed to Eric Thorngren that may be of interest
