Mega Rare LP of Gene Ammons - The Big Sound (Prestige 7132 - mono) Original yellow and black labels with Bergenfield address, deep groove and RVG on on both sides. Rare session for both Ammons and Coltrane together (Coltrane on Alto here) along with Jerome Richardson, Pepper Adams, Mal Waldron and others in a rare classic that no serious jazz collector can be without.
The LP is in strong VG+ condition with minimal marks that make make a bit of noise - not for the audiophile, but certainly not trashed either - actually really nice for an LP of this vintage. The cover is in VG+ condition with some general age/shelf wear, a bit of writing and minor staining on the back liner and a bit of clear tape on the top seam (this reads far worse than the cover looks in person). NOT perfect, but how many of these do you see anymore at any price?
