Bio/Background:
“Rock band out of Howard High School (Columbia, MD) formerly known as Misty Harbor. Their original name “Charon’s Boat” came from a suggestion by friend Tom Kerchner about a boat which crossed the Styx River in Greek mythology. However no one was sure how to pronounce “Charon” and the name became shortened to “The Boat.”
Members of the group were Jimmy Neeson (guitar), Bill Stahly (drums), Jimmy Baker (bass), Doug Lynner (guitar, then later switching to keyboards), Creston “Mickey” Gaither (guitar). A full-page photo of the Other Barn Teen Center in Columbia, MD with the Boat in the foreground appeared in the January 1971 issue of Life Magazine. In addition to the teen centers, the Boat played gigs at the Club Venus, and the Chanticleer.”

If so, please consider a visit to my booth (Booth 002, down stairs) at the ANTIQUE DEPOT antique mall in historic ELLICOTT CITY, MARYLAND (3720 Maryland Avenue, just off Main Street at the north end of town – open every day of the year except Christmas and Thanksgiving) for some excellent bargain-priced LPs and 45’s.
Also, I regularly set up at the monthly ARBUTUS RECORD & TAPE EXPO at the Arbutus Fire Hall on Southwestern Boulevard, Baltimore ~ usually held on the 3rd Sunday – but it’s always good to check and confirm). If you let me know ahead of time of your interests, I will do my best to bring a few extra goodies for your consideration.
