Description
I am selling a Capitol Records original 1969 Gandalf vinyl LP pressing. This ultra-rare debut album from this psychedelic rock group is one of the most coveted vinyl releases, both for its rarity and as a nostalgic collectible. This New Jersey group performed as the Rahgoos in local Manhattan venues and frequently at Jersey shore clubs before becoming the groundbreaking psych group known as Gandalf. The album’s artwork is just as famous, as the recording itself, and the album is often sought after just for the album’s psychedelic LP cover depiction! The vinyl is a Capitol original St-121 first pressing, NOT A PROMOTIONAL, or 180 GRAM RE-ISSUE.
The vinyl and the cover are VG+ based on Goldmine record grading guidelines. The album cover has a slight seam tear on the top edge less than 1 inch in length, which is shown in one of the photos that accompanies this auction. The album has an original label pressing bubble that can be seen in the photo of the label that I have provided. The rarity of this item combined with its condition, makes the album an essential entry in any serious record collectors library.
