Turning the clock back to 1987, THIRTY FIVE years ago this coming July, American legendary hard rockers Guns N' Roses released one of the best selling debut albums of all time, (after Meat Loaf's first album, 'Bat Out of Hell'). It's also one of the best selling albums of all time, period, with over THIRTY million copies sold worldwide! It's a part of many music lovers' collection, including mine. The band signed with Geffen Records, and never looked back! It was a slow starter, a "sleeper, if you will; but once it got cooking, it exploded, and made Guns N' Roses one of the biggest bands in the world!

In 1989, Guns and Geffen released a special limited edition shaped picture disc for the rockin' song "Sweet Child O' Mine", in the UK. The shape is a cross, with the band member's faces, as skulls, in the cross itself. The skull faces artwork became the new cover, as the original cover was banned by many retail outlets, such as Walmart and Sears. The shaped pic disc is two tracks: the remix of "Sweet Child O' Mine" is on the A side, and the track "Out Ta Get Me" is on the B side.

But hang on, I'm not done yet! Lol I'll also add the 2018 THIRTIETH anniversary reissue of this important and crucial rock milestone! It's awesome, and is TWO records, (three sides standard black vinyl, and the fourth side is a hologram). All packaged together, with color prints and lyric sheets, a gatefold sleeve with the original, banned artwork, in a sweet slipcover!

The third and last bonus is a couple of rock magazines, with Slash interviews in each one! Both contain lengthy articles about Slash, Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver, and Slash's solo careers. Great pics, too! A nice finishing touch on this THIRTY FIVE year celebration of 'Appetite For Destruction'!

The shaped pic disc has a major flaw, as the bottom right corner is cracked. (See pics for closeups of flaw, and for the hologram on side 4 of the reissued  LP.) The crack is near Slash's hair. It is cracked, bit is still intact, and still holding together. (I think it doesn't look too bad, but that's just my opinion. It's YOUR opinion that counts!) It could be super glued back together, which I'll let the buyer do themselves. The rest of the pic disc looks really good. The reissue looks fantastic, and comes with all the insides. The color prints/lyrics sheets have a little curling up on one side of each one. The vinyl is in great condition. I played this a couple of times, and don't remember pops or hisses. I can listen again, if anyone needs me to. The magazines have been read, but are also holding up well, with no rips or tears, dog-eared pages, or handwriting any where on them!
