CONDITION:       STRICT  U.K. MAGAZINE  'RECORD COLLECTOR'  GRADING SYSTEM USED.  I aim to provide an accurate and honest appraisal of condition.  It’s in my best interests to do so.  I WANT YOU TO COME BACK.    All records are checked in good natural light and play tested IN FULL at a high volume on an original Technics 1210 MK2 turntable fitted with an Ortofon 2M Red stylus (tracking at 1.8g).    Used records are cleaned using a Moth vacuum record cleaning machine prior to play testing, unless condition deems unnecessary. 

Playing condition of vinyl ranges from VG- to EX.    Clearly audible surface noise/crackle in between tracks, intros, fades and on the quieter sections.     Overall,  NO distortion  NO loud consecutive clicks  NO jumps  NO sticking. 

Visually the vinyl is graded as VG+/EX-   Some light surface only marks/scuffs.   Nothing that feels to the touch.  

Labels are EX.    Spindle marks evident.  Some fingermarks.   All text perfectly readable.   NO writing.   NO stickers.

Sleeve is graded as EX+.    Very minor creasing.   Small bit of staining on the official sticker.     Still nice and neat.   All spine text perfectly readable.   NO seam splits   NO tears  NO unofficial stickers   NO writing.

Inner sleeve is EX.    Crumpling/light creasing in places.   Mild rubbing in places.  Couple of light stain marks – not immediately noticeable.   NO seam splits  NO tears  NO writing  NO stickers.

MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint

EXCELLENT (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG) The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratches. Normal wear and tear on the cover and extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable

GOOD (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeable deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and or deface

POOR (P) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing

BAD (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken and is only of use as a collection filler
