GTO'S - "PERMANENT DAMAGE." 1969 STRAIGHT RECORDS. CATALOG # STS 1059.
THIS COPY INCLUDES A HIGH QUALITY REPRINT OF THE HARD TO FIND ORIGINAL 12-PAGE LYRIC BOOKLET. WHEN YOU BOUGHT THIS ALBUM BACK IN '69, YOU HAD A 50/50 SHOT AT HAVING THIS BOOKLET INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE. THIS ONE DIDNT HAVE IT, SO I MADE A COPY OF ONE TO MAKE THE PACKAGE COMPLETE.
COVER: EX/NM. Cover looks great overall. Minor corner wear. Slight traces of ringwear on back cover. Light edge wear on seams, tiny 1/2 inch split on bottom seam at opening. Spine looks great, printing is perfectly legible.
RECORD: EX/NM- There are a few minor surface scuffs upon close inspection. Record still retains most of it's original lustre and shine. Plays great with minimal surface noise. Clean labels with no writing.
Overall, this is an excellent, well cared for copy of this album that is over 40 years old. Dont sleep on this one!
THE GTO'S (OR GIRLS TOGETHER OUTRAGEOUSLY) WERE SIGNED TO FRANK ZAPPA'S STRAIGHT RECORDS LABEL AND THIS IS THEIR ONLY RELEASE. IT IS HALF SPOKEN WORD, HALF MUSIC. THE GTO'S WERE A COLLECTION OF GROUPIES FROM THE L.A. SCENE OF THE LATE 60'S. THE ALBUM FEATURES NONE OTHER THAN ROD STEWART, JEFF BECK, LOWELL GEORGE, AND THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION AS MUSICAL GUESTS. FRANK ZAPPA PRODUCED THE WHOLE THING. HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER AMONG ZAPPA COMPLETISTS.
