HERE'S a rare first press UK mono copy of Scratching The Surface, the scorching debut LP by The Groundhogs, on the coveted blue Liberty label from 1968. Although the vinyl looks excellent when examined under strong halogen lighting it plays with a certain amount of background noise here and there, so grades VG-. The fully laminated single sleeve also grades VG- with a little creasing, laminate lift along the spine and a small name and date appropriately 'scratched into the surface' of the rear laminate, which can be seen when tilted to the light (one of my photos attempts to show this but I think you can only just see the date - 'SEPT'). If you were not looking for these sort of things then this remains a very respectable sleeve, strong with a sharp unfeathered opening edge. I carefully package my records and post tracked to ensure they reach you as they leave me, with the disc removed from the sleeve.
