"Your first album with The Groundhogs is called Scratching the Surface. What do you remember from recording this LP? Same year you also released solo album called Me and the Devil which is pure blues record. Would you like to comment on that? It was recorded at the 'Marquee' Studios which was a 4-track studio,very limited so when I persuaded Andrew Lauder, who was the A&R man that there were so many good blues-players in our area in South London that they should be recorded, my idea was to have an audience in the Studio because we all performed better in front of people and I still consider it and the 'sequel' 'Asked for water,she gave me gasoline' two of the best blues albums of the late '60s Blues Boom".
