Description
This is an auction for a LP by, Groundhogs, The Groundhogs Blues Obituary.
This was released by Liberty records in 1969 and has catalogue number LBS83253. This is stereo.
Matrix: LBS 83253 A1 LBS 83253
Condition: The lamiated sleeve has a discreet pen mark on the rear, next to side one's track listing. Some small lamination creases and a lamination bubble can be seen along the edges. The corners and mouth edge have light buffing and lastly a few discreet dirt marks can also be seen. Please check the pics, actually a nice crisp sleeve, spine & edges ex, no tears, bends, creases or discolouring and graded at VG+.
This comes with its original 'patent' inner sleeve which has a touch of yellowing but is otherwise fine.
Both labels look clean, Under closer examination some finger marks and spindle trails can be seen on each side. The centre hole shows some signs of wear.
The vinyl retains its shine, Under a strong light numerous light and feather scratches can be seen. I have test played this through both sides and found the mentioned scratches to be audible in places. Really a tale of two halves, on side one in the crossover between track two and three a loud fuzz noise can be heard, this soon diminishes to stop or is drowned out by the very strong audio. Midway through track three 4 or 5 loud ticks can be heard, again these completely stop. On side two I only noticed one place where 3 or 4 ticks were heard. Other than that this has feckling in places, which as stated, is mostly drowned out by the surprisingly strong audio. I don't think this has been played to often hence the music itself does not suffer from distortion or fading caused by wear. Side two certainly plays much better and is probably closer to near mint than very good. A majority of this record plays clear. So as its stands graded at VG, with side two being VG+.
Better than a gap filler, not for the purist.
