Description

This is a reasonable VG copy of a rare album by Gravy Train. Vertigo swirl, laminated gatefold, stereo 6360 051 first issue with large swirl above the spindle hole, 'VERTIGO' text below.

You will love this album. There's not a weak track on it ... lilting, melodic, insistent, tremendous, challenging prog/psych of the highest quality.

The thick-pressed first pressing vinyl (matrix endings 1Y/1 and 2/Y1) is in VG condition (Record Collector gradings). The disc looks fine under normal lighting and performs well on my Rega deck but when viewed under strong halogen light shows plenty of surface marks.

Both labels look fine with no unwanted writing, stickers or damage; moderate spindle marks are present but no wear is evident around the spindle holes themselves.

The laminated gatefold sleeve with its iconic image of a man's hand clutching an egg is in VG- condition. There is a little wear on all four corners, small (one-and-a-half/two-inch) splits at the centre of the top and bottom edges of the front (opening) section of the gatefold, and a one-and-a-half inch crack in the laminate on the centre of the spine. There are a few minor creases near the sleeve edges, a couple of half-moons and a ding on the top left corner of the rear of the sleeve. There is also some residue from presumably a long gone small sticker on the front - clear residue which no doubt could be removed if it troubles you. There is a tiny round blemish on the front cover where a speck of laminate appears to have become dislodged and there is a thin graze across the laminate on the rear of the sleeve. Inside, the full-length gatefold picture spread of the band looks perfect. Elsewhere there is no obvious ringwear, no writing and no tears. Overall then, a reasonable VG sleeve retaining all its original colours.

This is a detailed warts 'n' all appraisal because I don't want you splashing out any more of your hard-earned money than this is worth. Good luck if you are bidding but do so bearing in mind that the currrent Record Collector price is for mint examples only.
