Original pressing on the Los Angeles-Usa Nocturne label, home to a number of sought after records, such as the one by Arthur Lee Harper. The record was not distributed properly and has subsequently become super-obscure and hard to find.
"The GAEB had its beginnings in the late 60's. It emerged as a music ensemble simultaneously with the experimental sculptural instrumental creations of designer Richard Waters…this may be the first time a complete sound journey has been taken (during which time many of the instruments may be heard simultaneously) and played by foundation members of the GAEB." The record alternates between quiet droneyness and percussive sections with plenty of variety provided by the rich selection of instruments. Search around for this on the web and you won't find many references, it's super rare! From the jacket notes: "Two truck loads of experimental and non-conventional instruments plus eight musicians were the prime ingredients for this music. Four of the players also invent and build musical instrumental and sound devices. This album is dedicated to the hole in the sky".
