GRITTY SOUL ROCK opus from this hugely popular American band, joined here for the first time by keyboard player Craig Frost from. natch, the Frost. The music is pitched in the direction of funky white man rock with roots in the sixties soul shuffle that spawned other Michigan reprobates as Ted Nugent and Bob Seger. You know the score; heavy on the groove, loads of Hammond and pummeling drums. In fact, one of the tracks is called 'Rock & Roll Soul', which ironically is the heaviest hard rock track on the record.

Man of the match? Clearly that honour must go to vocalist and guitarist Mark Farner. What an amazing voice.

Beautiful copy this one - hard to find these days and never in this condition.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Super clean condition with no apparent signs of use or spindle marks. Grades as a shop fresh MINT!

Cover: Again, almost no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated gatefold cover. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no split seams and no creases. Spine is perfectly square, stiff, straight and uncrushed - beautiful 'creak' appeal on opening Drill hole top right. Beautiful and impossible to find like this. Looks like it walked out of the factory yesterday. Grades as a shop fresh MINT-!
