Gracious & the first L.P. On Vertigo swirl. Vo price code on back.

This has got to be one of the best in my opinion. I love this album & sadly/reluctently pass it on.

The main positives & any (negatives) I'll list below....

The cover :

Has a good bit of ringwear on the front & also the back. At the top there is a small part of record push see pics. I have stored this in a hard polythene protector to avoid any further/future issues. These are not major issues, but fair to mention. The spine at the side is intact without split, only very minimal shelf wear. Out of 100% the cover front/back recieves 75%. There is no damp or smell here only these issues to list. Still acceptable, not excellent or mint but vg++

The labels are on both sides out of 100% 95% correct, with very minimal spindle wear visable. Only under bright light will any be seen. no ripping/fade or tear & no handwritten names. Outer rims have hand written matrix - 6360 002 A & 6360 002 B. Not sure if this is a first press swirl. But here we have on the back cover the VO price code & these A/B etched. So vertigo fans this could be an early press. Not sure which country of origin. But I purchased this in the U.K. years ago from an independent retailer.

The actual record :

Has been test played again & also examined under extreme bright white light. resulted in a visual appearance of excellent minus. Down to the fact a few hairlined fractures are visable. These don't impare sound, but if you look at this record under bright light & scrutinised it, then you will see a few (not surface scrathed marks) but light scores. For appearance this would be out of 100% 80%. Audio wise - This plays very well for the fact its from 1970 over 40 years in age after all. No massive major issues such as, background hiss, crackle or skipbacks. No ingrained dust still a very clean record here. And I have to say still sounding not half bad! Happy enough to offer this to a new home. The end of side -A- has a small needle drop, and resulted in a tick during the last 30/50 seconds or so, on the last track. Pretty minor issue & not a big deal. But this will not cause skipbacks, it will probablly produce a small tick on rotation. Apart from this. The rest of this FANTASTIC work by "Gracious" plays excellent all the way on both sides. Out of 100% for the audio I will give 80% could poss go higher but will stick here. I don't ever offer anything unless deserved to be offered. No point in otherwise. With all this said its still a very rare record & sure to please.

I'am sure I had the swirl bag inner, but had replaced this with a plain white at some point. So this is not included (if it ever was) I can't remember sorry.

I've so far sold a lot of my vertigo records, Cressida, Manfred Mann, Gentle Giant, Fairfield Parlour, Nucleus etc and had no complaints about description/condition or delivery. I use custom box mailers please see method of posting in the picture below.

Record will be packed in a tough custom box DEFENDAPACK mailer as shown in the photos below. The mailer has a locking tab. The record will be placed outside the cover inside a polythene protector between two card stiffeners and sealed at the top with fragile marked masking tape.

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condiition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displayes no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any moajor defects is acceptable

Good (G) Te record has been played so much that the sound quality has notceably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc

Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler

CD's and CASSETTES As a general rule CD's and Cassettes either play perfectly - inwhich case they are in Mint condition - or they don't, in which case their value is minimal. Cassette tape is liable to deteriorate with age, even if it remains unplayed, so care should be taken when buying old tapes. CD's are difficult to grade visually; they can look perfect but actually be faulty, while in other cases they may appear damaged but still play perfectly. Cassette and CD inlays and booklets should be graded in the same way as record covers and sleeves. In general, the plastic containers for cassettes and CDs can easily be replaces if they are broken or scratched, but card covers and digipaks are subject to the same wear as record sleeves
