Description
This is my near perfect (audio) copy of GRACIOUS's 'GRACIOUS!' on UK VERTIGO (SWIRL labels) - 6360 002 - Stereo. The record has almost 100% perfect audio, which is surprising as there is a tiny scratch at the beginning of 'Hell'. Luckily it plays through this with no problem and what ever noise may be being produced is lost in the loud and 'heavy' percussive drum and echo part at the beginning of this monster track! The rest is simply stunning audio with out any crackle or pops and definately no jumps! It is just this one tiny scratch away from a perfect 'off the shelf' vinyl and in fact this record shows little other sign of being played! The Gracious! sleeve is one of the hardest to find in perfect shape. A combination of un-laminated and very soft card has proved fatal to many copies over the years, with dirt also being a major factor on this unprotected pure white sleeve! This copy has light wear but is thankfully still white, with an acceptable amount of 'light' soiling, simply from storage, not handling or coffee! The defects I must mention are two-fold...there is a split from the record opening for about 5cm along the bottom of the sleeve, caused by wear /storage. Since getting the record it has been housed in a plastic sleeve (with the record removed) so this is un-noticable and it has prevented any further damage. I have made no attempt to repair the sleeve. The second defect is the spine. Whilst still readable and 'clean' it has split it's surface in a couple of parts. Again this does not spoil the look of the spine as it is still 'white' because of the white card beneath the surface and cannot be noticed at all when housed in a plastic sleeve, but it has to be considered when bidding! Inside the gatefold, the colour image is near perfect and the Vertigo labels are clean, tidy and white! So altogether a pretty good example of a record that is so hard to find with a perfect sleeve!
I pack all my records well to arrive with the buyer as they left me! I always start my auctions low and let the marketplace decide their true value.
