A  word about freight:   No matter what Ebay says, we charge $ 6.90 for media mail and $9.50 (FOR 78's, for the extra packaging),  for priority mail for domestic shipping. Overseas is $18.50 for first 78 and $4.00 for each thereafter, if you get over 4 lps then the rate goes up to $5 each, because we have to ship priority mail.  When you place a bid on this item, you acknowledge this.  They do not take into account, the box price nor any other expense in mailing (petrol, employees etc). This is our rate period. We've had a few complaints about this, but we are in business to make a profit (god forbid).  Thanks for understanding. What you are bidding on is a very very old, USA pressing of GOREE CARTER: IS IT TRUE.  The 10" is an original pressing from the late 50's on the FREEDOM Records label.  This is a classic blues track and would sound great on a jukebox.  T-Bone Walker inspired a legion of young Texas blues guitarists during the years following World War II with his elegant electrified riffs and fat chords. Among his legion of disciples was Houston's Goree Carter, whose big break came when Solomon Kahal signed him to Houston's Freedom Records circa 1949.

Carter's best-known waxing, the torrid "Rock Awhile" (billed to Goree Carter & His Hepcats) emerged not long thereafter, its sizzling opening lick sounding quite a bit like primordial Chuck Berry. Freedom issued plenty of Carter platters over the next few years, and he later recorded for Imperial/Bayou, Sittin' in With, Coral, Jade, and Modern without denting the national charts. Eventually, he left music behind altogether.

I grade the 78's visually inasmuch as I don't have a 78 player to play them.  1-10 ten (10 will be new and unplayed)(6-7 will be VG to VG+).  Anything above a 5 is worth having in my opinion.  1-5 they are marked and scratchy, but still may play ok.  Bear in mind most of these are nearly 70 years old and they won't look like they came off the store shelf.
