The countdown to Good Vibrations 2005 has begun. Once again it promises the very cream of electronic music in lush green surroundings and with a true festival atmosphere like no other.

Headlining the main stage in 2005 will be New York's most glamorous five-piece, Scissor Sisters. Anyone who doesn't know of them yet must have been living under a rock of late. Over the past year they have sold over one million copies of their debut album, recorded with Kylie and been described by Bono as "the best pop band in the world". Now Scissor Sisters can't wait to hit Australian shores for their first ever shows in the country. "Scissor Sisters put on the kind of show that makes you look around in confusion and wonder if you've wandered into an alternate universe" NME.

Myles MacInnes, aka Mylo, will be playing his first live shows in Australia with a three-piece band. Following the release of the massive track 'Release The Pressure' in 2004, the 24 year old Scottish maverick released his debut album 'Destroy Rock & Roll' to huge acclaim with many tipping him as dance music's next big thing.

Arrested Development were one of the 90's big hip hop success stories, selling literally millions of records with hits such as 'Tennessee', 'People Everyday', and 'Mr Wendal' as well as scoring a couple of Grammys for their efforts. Recently named by VH1 as one of the 50 best hip hop groups of all time they have been cited as a major influence on the likes of The Fugees, Jill Scott, Eryka Badu and The Roots. Arrested Development prefer to call their awe-inspiring live shows 'celebrations' which could not be better suited to Good Vibrations.

Handsome Boy Modeling School first thrilled hip hop fans with the concept album 'So…How's Your Girl' in 1999. It has taken Chest Rockwell and Nathaniel Merriweather (aka super-producers Prince Paul and Dan The Automator), five years to come up with the follow-up 'White People' but it's been worth the wait and now they're heading our way to help make Australia a more handsome place.

DJ Format & Abdominal MC will make their first ever Australian appearance at Good Vibrations following the success of the 2003 album 'Music For The Mature B-Boy'. The British DJ and Canadian MC will bring funky beats, clever wordplay, fast raps, and tongue-in-cheek humour to the party.

Leftfield duo, Bent, are set to bring along a full-live band to make their Good Vibrations appearance one not to be missed. With three albums now under their belts, their music has been used for soundtracks to a ridiculous number of advertisements as well as a number of popular TV shows including Six Feet Under.

Bringing a touch of soul to the proceedings will be Detroit's Amp Fiddler who has been performing for over 20 years with the likes of Prince, George Clinton, Primal Scream and Jamiroquai before stepping out on his own over the last few years and releasing the acclaimed solo album 'Waltz of the Ghetto Fly' in 2004.

No stranger to these shores is Lyrics Born, the MC best known as a key member of Latyrx and the Quannum collective. His live show will illustrate his credentials with some acappella freestyling alongside tracks from his debut solo album 'Later That Day'.

With residencies at some of the finest clubs the world over, Layo & Bushwacka! are best known for pioneering tech-house and as two of the finest DJs of their genre. Both their DJ sets and two outstanding albums mix a potent blend of dirty breaks, house and techno. More recently they released the 'All Night Long' mix album which is a fine demonstration of the treat that Good Vibrations goers have in store.

Jacques Lu Cont, the man behind Les Rhythmes Digitales, first signed to the Wall of Sound label at just 17. Two albums, countless gigs, a spot of producing for a little-known singer called Madonna, and a plethora of DJ sets later, Jacques has established a strong reputation for producing quality pop music, a taste of which you can get on his Fabriclive mix CD and on his huge hit remix of Starsailor's 'Four To The Floor'.

Ben Watt has added many strings to his bow over the years, firstly with commercial success as half of Everything But The Girl, then on to producing (with Deep Dish, Massive Attack, Roni Size and Beth Orton amongst his credits), to running the award winning Lazy Dog parties, to setting up his own label Buzzin' Fly, to becoming a club owner with Neighbourhood. Good Vibrations will see him in his DJ cap spinning anything from deep house to Afrotronica to electro-soul.

Bugz in the Attic are set to return for a second consecutive year at Good Vibrations, this time teaming up with German collective Jazzanova. The combination is likely to lead to a mix of broken beats, drum'n'bass, latin, funk, soul, and jazz to stretch the boundaries of electronic music. Coming from a similar stable, the two collectives have played together on various occasions and the Jazzanova track 'Mwela, Mwela' was remixed by the Bugz to significant acclaim.

Another one to make a second trip to Good Vibrations, Rob Da Bank this year will be joined by his Lazy Boy Sound System. Possibly the most eclectic DJ on the bill, there's no guessing what the set might include. Lazyboy released its debut album in 2004 featuring collaborations with the likes of Lee 'Scratch' Perry and Roddy Frame amongst others. 2004 also saw Rob put on his own 'Bestival' - three days on the tiny Isle of Wight for which he persuaded Basement Jaxx, Fatboy Slim and Zero 7 amongst many others to join him.

To add an extra flavour to the mix, Brazilian drum'n'bass master DJ Patife will be joined by the soulful voice of Cleveland Watkiss. Australia's green pastures will be another stop on the road for Patife who has played everywhere from the Brazilian rainforest to the beaches of Salvador to official World Cup parties in Japan.

After his track 'Happy' had lingered in the record boxes of the likes of Gilles Peterson, Pete Tong, and Mr Scruff for some time, Max Sedgely signed a licensing deal with Rob Da Bank's Sunday Best label to give it a proper release in 2004. The track was the title music for the UK's television coverage of the European Cup soccer championship and also became a massive global dance hit.

At the reggae end of the Good Vibrations musical spectrum, dancehall legend Rankin' Joe will be joining his old friends Blood and Fire Sound System. The Blood & Fire record label is perhaps the most respected re-issuer of classic 70's reggae, whilst Joe is famed for his fast style on the mic. Together they have packed venues and dancefloors the world over
