Don't miss this opportunity to own one of the finest 1973 CLASSIC ROCK Albums of all time.

Moontan is an album by Dutch rock band Golden Earring, released in 1973. It contains their most notable radio hit, "Radar Love" and was voted best Dutch pop album ever by readers of one of the country's best known music magazines Oor in 2008.In the Q & Mojo Classic Special Edition Pink Floyd & The Story of Prog Rock, the album came #32 in its list of "40 Cosmic Rock Albums".

According to Ozzy Osbourne of Black Sabbath, while recording their fifth album Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Tony Iommi suffered from writers block and was not able to produce any riffs that used to be the main body of band's songs. After listening to Moontan album, something happened and Iommi wrote a riff that ended up being the main riff of title song Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.

This RARE 5-track version of "Moontan" was released for the UK and the US markets.

"Suzy Lunacy" was regarded too poppy for these territoria, so it was decided to remove that track in favour of a new version of "Big Tree, Blue Sea" (originally recorded for their eponymous 1970 album, also known as "Wall Of Dolls").

"Just Like Vince Taylor" was also dropped, but re-appeared as the B-side of "Radar Love" in the UK (2094 116) & US (MCA-40202).

The European B-side of "Radar Love" was "The Song Is Over", which was AFAIK never released outside Europe.

The VINYL is in EX condition.

The GATEFOLD SLEEVE is in EX+ condition.

The INNER LYRIC SHEET is present and in EX+ condition.

All records are professionally cleaned using an MOTH cleaning system prior to despatch.

I package my records in the strongest purpose made mailers for maximum safety.

All records are removed from their picture sleeves where appropriate and posted in a separate plain white inner to avoid damage during transit.

The following is the scale I use to grade my records , I try my best to get it right so please buy with confidence.

MINT:

The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks

or deterioration in sound quality.

The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition.

Records advertised as sealed or un-played should be mint.

EXCELLENT:

The record shows some signs of having been played,

but there is very little lessening in sound quality.

The vinyl may have some hairline surface scuffs which will be only slightly visible.

The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD:

The record has obviously been played many times,

but displays no major deterioration in sound quality,

despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.

Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items,

is acceptable.

GOOD:

The record has been played so much

that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated.

perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.

The cover suffers from folding, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
