Both sides of this scarce factory sample are in great condition. The vinyl is reasonably thick and is still glossy. There are several light surface marks which are barely noticeable and a few light scratches.

Both factory sample labels are in stunning condition with only a few light spindle marks on each label.

PLAY-GRADING:

SIDE ONE: VERY GOOD+

SIDE TWO: VERY GOOD+

I have play-graded both sides of this record throughout on a PS-LX350H Sony deck equipped with an Ortofon cartridge at a lightweight 2g tone arm setting. The sound quality of this scarce test pressing is outstanding as one would expect from a Decca factory sample from this era. There is some light crackle and surface noise throughout the LP which can only be heard during the quieter passages. There are some occasional light clicks but nothing to spoil the listening experience. Although the labels state "This Pressing is not necessarily representative of the finished record and must not be used for review purposes" it is very similar to the original release, I was unable to find any differences between this factory sample and my own first press copy of this LP.

There is no outer sleeve present since the cover was not issued with this particular factory sample. I have included a blank white master sleeve to house the Decca company inner sleeve which is in reasonable condition for its age.

Any merchandise offered by me will have no jumps or writing on covers/labels unless stated.

Although Frank Zappa does not play on this album this item would complement any Zappa collection since the band consists mainly of ex-Mothers of Invention members. Geronimo Black was formed by Jimmy Carl Black (original Mothers' drummer) shortly after the Mothers of Invention split. I have never seen a Geronimo Black test-pressing before and doubt that I will ever see one again as factory samples are extremely limited. This item is true investment material, it is extremely scarce and in my opinion is one of the best Zappa-related LPs. Please bid early to avoid disappointment.

Packaging Information:

This record will be sent in a high quality cardboard record mailing envelope, protected with two strong cardboard stiffeners to prevent unwanted bending during transportation. The record will be placed in a PVC outer sleeve and "sandwiched" between the cardboard stiffeners. The envelope will be sealed with strong brown tape. Please bid with confidence, I will always aim for the record to reach you in the same condition as it leaves me, especially since I have had disappointing experiences with records badly packaged that I have received.
