Description

This is the very rare sought after single lp box set called: ENESCO PLAYS BACH SONATAS, GEORGES ENESCO Violin Solo. NO. 11 IN G MINOR -- NO.2 IN B MINOR. The lp is an original U.S. 1950 deep groove pressing on very thick, rigid, heavy vinyl. Labels are red with gold print #CLP-104. this number is also on front and spine of box, as well as on both labels. Stamped in the trail off area of the lp is TA 33 016 / 017. The box is in wonderful condition, the front is a red felt with gold print. All print is perfect, the spine is not torn, and is in great condition. Seams and corners are not split. Inside the box are 2 pages of notes attached to a dowel, this dowel slides into a metal bracket that is on each corner of the box. Also has a thick cardboard sleeve that is attached to the dowel as well, it holds the lp. Sleeve has NO seam splits, or tears, etc. The inside of the box is very clean and in near perfect condition, it has NO problems other than just a little bit of very faint browning spots mostly on the front page of the notes. NO tears, writing, other stains, etc. The back of the box is also in near perfect condition, the outside of box just has mild wear. The lp has beautiful labels with sharp gold print and NO spindle marks. Both playing surfaces have a deep glossy shine, with NO scratches, scuffs, groove wear, mold, sleeve stains, or warps etc. While holding the lp at different angles under bright light, I noticed many tiny shallow pimples in the vinyl, quality control was not what it is today, and pressings like this are not uncommon. I very carefully played a few excerpts from each side, the violin sounded clean and clear with NO distortion. And the background was very quiet, I heard only a few soft, background thumps and ticks. NO skips,or loud, annoying background noise etc. You can tell this lp was not played much at all. IT WAS PART OF A COLLECTION I ACQUIRED THAT WAS OWNED BY A KNOWN VIOLINIST, HE PLAYED WITH THE NBC SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, and I believe he also played violin for the Radio City Symphony Orch.Out of respect for this gentleman's family, I will not mention his name in this auction, but I will give it to the winning bidder. If you search for the rarest violin lps, do consider adding this one to your collection. It is one of the rarest of all violin records and a nice find in this CONDITION: BOX NM - - / LP NM . THIS IS A VERY RARE LP THAT MANY COLLECTORS NEVER KNEW EXISTED. THEY ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE 3 LP SET. VERY FEW OF THESE SINGLE LP BOXSETS WERE EVER MADE, AND I AM SURE ARE NOW ALL IN THE HANDS OF COLLECTORS, NOT WILLING TO PART WITH THEM. It gives me pleasure to offer this lp with a low minimum and NO Reserve. Please, only serious buyers bid on this. Your satisfaction is guaranteed, bid with confidence. If not completely satisfied with this lp, it must be returned within 10 days, and in the exact same condition as received. We accept: BID PAY, MONEY ORDER, PERSONAL CHECK (UP TO $50), MONEY GRAM, WESTERN UNION, SORRY NO PAYPAL. BUYER PAYS ACTUAL SHIPPING COST PLUS $1 FOR LP MAILER BOX.
