Description

The GENTLE SOUL
Gentle Soul

(Epic BN 26374)

Ultra-rare original 1968 landmark psych LP on the yellow Epic label, featuring Pam Polland and Rick Stanley (who, though not mentioned on the LP other than songwriting credits, WERE the actual "Gentle Soul"). Produced by Terry Melcher. Musicians include Ry Cooder, Larry Knechtel, Paul Horn, Van Dyke Parks, et al. One of the scarcest and most collectible psych LP's released on a major label.

Record is VG/VG- with some audible scuffs and scratches; most notably during the first and part of the second track on Side 2, and occasionally but unobtrusively elsewhere. Both sides play through with no skips and the LP is quite listenable (but if you're a persnickety audiophile, please don't bid). Labels are clean with just some faint spindle marks. Cover is VG+ with light ring and edge wear and a small transparent tape repair on the center bottom seam.
