Description
GENESIS
A VERY RARE LIVE PERFORMANCE FROM 1978
Knebworth was Genesis only planned British appearance in a year that saw them taking a hefty crack at the American market where they were on the verge of superstardom, a couple of European tours and a first venture into Japan.
Glorious gig for the Then There Were Three tour, and the band wore shiny white costumes for the night. The 1st band ever to use Lasers on stage, saw my first laser beam during 'One for the Vine' which came out from the stage and over the audience and into the distance. Everyone gasped at it and looked back. When I looked towards the stage again, every face in the crowd was looking away from the stage and at the laser beam disappearing over the hills. It was that good an effect ! Freezing June day (no change there then!) and frozen night. The worst thing was the toilets, or lack of them! No portaloos, just a pit with a few planks thrown across it. Unbearable, and not fit for animals!
This is the FULL show including the 1st two tracks, Eleventh Earl of Mar & In the Cage (which are missing from the Radio 1 recording)
WHAT A SHOW!!
