Description
The record you are viewing is part of a collection acquired through a successful auction bid. The product purchased is from a deceased record store owner whose doors closed circa 1970, having made a run of it during the 60's. An incredibly large volume of LPs remained, many in new (sealed) or pristine condition and properly stored. These will comprise the bulk of offerings I will be posting on eBay. With a vast and well preserved inventory, it will take time to sift through and uncover the many hidden gems that await. My goal is to present these finds to eBay buyers in a timely and systematic manner. I am aware finds of this nature are indeed rare, but the fact is, the records I will be listing have sat undisturbed for over 40 years waiting to be rediscovered, shared and enjoyed. I hope you will find some items you've been wanting and can be part of, what I feel, is an historical find. All items kept in smoke-free, pet-free environment.
Prestige deep groove MONO vinyl LP 7176 (RVG stamped in dead wax both sides). Bergenfield, NJ address. - Released 1960
NM vinyl appears new and unplayed; shiny and glossy. Clean labels. Test played on NAD C555 turntable revealed mostly quiet and beautiful analogue sound full of presence and verve. I detected a couple of light vinyl-inherent clicks on side two. The overall sound is pristine as if played only this once on well pressed quality vinyl. The laminated cover rates a strong VG + with a few age spots on spine. There is a 1/2" tear upper throat with stub, and corner wear nicks lower seam and top spine. As you can see from the band credits on the rear cover (see photo), this is an incredible ensemble performing at a very high level. A terrific Gene Ammons record from a series of five jam sessions made for the label, according to the liner notes.
