The Wisconsin sludge group's second full-length, GATEWAY, is a crawling march of cripplingly heavy psychedelia, exactly the kind of bad trip that cautionary films warned you about. It's like Sabbath recorded "Sweet Leaf" over and over again, trying to figure out how to make it even more forbidding and evil sounding. The epic title track, at over seven minutes, is a monster of swirling swamp thing muck, and "Sunshine Green" is anything but sunny.
