GARY WILLARD/NASTY HABITS 7" RARE PRIVATE Power Pop PS
Artist:
Gary Willard And The Characters (AKA Nasty Habits)
Title:
Television World b/w That's The Way It Goes
Label:
Habits
Format:
7"
Year:
1981
Cover:
VG+ (just minor bends and creases, a small amount of discoloration on the back)
Vinyl:
EX (hardly looks played)
Notes:
Interesting story behind this one. The band was from a small town outside of Cleveland. They were originally called Nasty Habits but for some reason put this record out under the name Gary Willard & The Characters on their own "Habits" imprint. When none of their fans identified what the record was, the band decided to cross out the Gary Willard name with a sharpie on the labels and stamp NASTY HABITS on their remaining copies, ditching most of the sleeves in the process. This is a very rare copy that was not crossed out AND comes with the seldom seen picture sleeve. The sound is reminescent of west coast power pop of the time (think 20/20). Nice production. Strong songwriting/musicianship. Uncomped as far as I know.

- GRADING
(Records graded conservatively)
M (Mint) - No record is graded Mint, ever.
NM (Near Mint) - Sealed records or opened ones that are nearly perfect.
EX (Excellent) - Very few visible flaws. Covers have sharp corners with small imperfections. Maybe some light sleeve scuffs or a couple light scratches on the record.
VG+ (Very Good Plus) - Cover may have small bends in the corners, beginning stages of ring wear, small seam splits, writing or slight discoloration, but not a combination of all of these. Records have been played but carefully handled. Noticeable marks on the vinyl that shouldn't cause any audible defects. Your "average," very acceptable record.
VG (Very Good) - Covers have ring wear, moderate seam splits, writing, stains, etc. The vinyl has numerous scratches and scuffs. Clicks and pops may be apparent, but not overwhelming. Records should not skip.
VG- (Very Good Minus) - Considerable wear to the cover and record. Any combination of water damage, ring wear, large seam splits, writing, and discoloration to the cover. Record has scratches that could be felt with a finger nail and should play with noise and possibly skip.
G (Good) - This should be called BAD. Only really rare records at drastically reduced prices should be bought in this condition.
