ITEM DESCRIPTION:

This beautiful 5-LP box set – a like-new collector's copy – from DG (KL 27/31, German pressing, tulip label, mono, booklet included) entitled “Wilhelm Furtwängler · In Memoriam” features a remarkable tribute to the legendary conductor. Furtwangler has been well-served on record, with many fine pressings on French, German, and UK labels, but his artistry has seldom been presented so handsomely as here. 

One attraction of this set is that it gathers together truly some of his finest performances, if one can even narrow them down from such an illustrious legacy.

Haydn: Symphony No. 88 in G Major

Included is a fascinating full-size, 28-page booklet, replete with blue dust jacket, contains a number of striking full-page photographs of the maestro and an extensive appreciation of his artistry by K.H. Rappel – all texts provided in German, French, and Italian. 

CONDITION – PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY:

The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

The condition of the box is near-MINT. Really, there are no flaws to speak of and the box appears virtually as new – overall, an outstanding collector’s copy.

The condition of the booklet is near-MINT – a fine collector's copy. There is light edgewear to the blue dust jacket, but that is all.

The condition of the 5 LPs is near-MINT throughout and playback is superb in all 5 – overall, these rate as superb collector's copies.
