1967 MASSACHUSETTS GARAGE PSYCH FUZZBEAST.

This group comprised of students atTabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts, and according to Erik Lindgren'sexcellent sleeve notes for his An Overdose of Heavy Psych comp, was limited to500 copies.  Relative Distance - features some great guitar and gave thetitle to Aram Heller's excellent New England nuggets LP Relative Distance. Ithas also been compiled on An Overdose..., but the flip, which features pleasantfolk rock, remains uncompiled.

“Relative Distance,” originallyrecorded by Massachusetts’ Fumin’ Humins, was released in 1967 on a record thatis now impossibly hard to find. The original version begins with peals ofHendrixian feedback which introduce the verse and reappears for a mind-numbingmiddle section. 

Marion, Massachusetts’ The Fumin’Humins are another group for whom biographical details are scarce. Both sidesof their lone single are credited to the same “B. Cardoza”; therefore, it’sreasonable to speculate that the two tracks the band released were originalcompositions. Of them, the low-key “Queen” is the winner with its minimalisticarrangement, which is highlighted by the appearance of either a flute orrecorder.
