General Info on Grading and Condition:
- please be aware, that we only grade optically. we grade the items at perfect light-conditions to ensure that we noticed every little scratch or hairline!
- normally only 1 indication of the below listed is necessary to make us grade the record as low as possible. in seldom cases we decide to give it an average grading. this might happen if a double LP is completely mint, except for one "G+" scratch on one side of any of the LP's. But if this case shall happen to any item you are interested in, please don't worry, we will mentoin that exactly in the "Info"/"Further Info" field on the itemspage!
Compared to most other Vinyl Dealers we grade more strictly. If we grade a record VG+ or EX, others commonly grade it NM or Mint. Check out our gradingsystem below!
//////////New:
/////VINYL: unplayed.
/////COVER: still sealed or unused.
//////////M (Mint):
/////VINYL: Absolutely perfect! Sometimes even a better condition than "new" as no stocking issues are allowed for Mint items.
/////COVER: Absolutely perfect! Sometimes even a better condition than "new" as no stocking issues are allowed for Mint items.
//////////NM (Near Mint):
/////VINYL: unplay played 2-3 times with very light and very few hairlines.
/////COVER: only very minor stocking issues are allowed here, no bents, median jolted edges etc.
//////////EX (Excellent):
/////VINYL: the LP has a couple of light hairlines, but nothing deep.
/////COVER: minor stocking issues or minor jolted edges etc. are allowed for EX items.
//////////VG+ (Very Good Plus):
/////VINYL: same as EX but with much more hairlines.
/////COVER: Cover could be bent, but the cartonage does not show on the surface of the sleeve. Edges can have median scuffs. Very small avulsions can occure. Minor to median yellowing or colourfading might be the case. minor to median wear or ringwear can occur.
//////////VG (Very Good):
/////VINYL: Vinyl can show wide scratches, that continue to 1/3 of the depth of the rills, but not further. Or few long, but slim scratches, that go to the half of the vinyl depth.
/////COVER: cover can show avulsion, but only on the surface, no large tears are allowed to appear at VG condition. Major wear, ringwear, dirt etc. can occure.
//////////G+ (Good Plus):
/////VINYL: Vinyl can show deep, but thin scratches, that continue to the half of the depth of the rills, or deeper!
/////COVER: can show lots of tears, avulsions and dirt etc., but is still enjoyable if you are really on the record.
//////////G (Good):
/////VINYL: Vinyl can show deep AND wide scratches, that continue to the full depth of the rills!
/////COVER: same as above, but really not enjoyable. Major parts of the cover (like artist/album title, or important parts of the artwork) are no longer visible.
//////////P (Poor):
/////VINYL: The Vinyl is wavy, has meltings from fire or heat, is broken, skips etc.! It's probably questionable if the record even plays. Only recommended for very rare items and/or completists!
/////COVER: only parts of the cover survived.
