Description
Last year I purchased an Edison record player from an Estate and along with the player was a slew of records. The machine had been in the family since it was purchased new and had very little wear. Amazingly the records that accompanied it were excellent with little or no show of wear. i.e.: no scratches or blemishes. I think that the sleeves or covers are original to the records? The last pat. date on the sleeves are 1918 so I assume they were produced after that date. The sleeves also state: "Edison Re-Creation (Record)". I assume this means that the sounds have be reproduced on the record. I have not played them, not wanting to injure them in any way. The covers are NOT pristine and do show varying degrees of wear from storage. The following is a list of the five records that are included in this group:

Record No. 3: #5231-A-5-103; " Can't Yo Heah Me Callin Caroline"; by The Homestead Trio; Imprinted Label w/ Chipped Center Hole on this side Excellent condition otherwise and will not effect playback. Record No. 4: # 4345-C-3-7; "Old Black Joe"; by Christine Miller; Imprinted Label Excellent Add: This is the only # that I can find and it looks like it was manually written on the edge of the label. # 4461-A-1-85; "Punchinello" by Edmund A Jahn " " " Add: Same
Record No. 5: # 5120-C-2-25; "But th Lord is Mindfull of His Own" by Christine Miller; Imprinted Label Excellent Add: Same as #4 # 6165-A-1-26; "Just as I Am"; by Arthur Middleton " " " Add: Same as #4
The last three records had their #'s hand incised below the label and are probably older than the first two records.
Please note that I have added additional #'s to each recording except the last three The last three only have one #, period. But looking at the first two record #'s I assume the record #'s to be: #1 = #5488 & #5294; #2 = #11579 & #11580; #3 = #5321 & #5406; #4 = #4345 & # 4461; #5 = #5120 & #6165. I hope this clears up any questions on the record #'s.
