Description
E. Berliner`s Gramophone record from 1898 No. E 6000X - unique, one of a kind!.
I´m goin`to sell my very very unique record collection till the end of the year, beginning this week.
Recorded on august 8th 1898.
Title: Variation Brilliant ( Müller )
Clarinet Solo by G.G. Umbach at Trocadaro Orchestra London, UK.
This 8.8.98 is the first recording day in europe!!! Reported to Mr. Stephan Puille ( wellknown Berliner research specialist ) it was not made in europe ( Hanover ) but pressed in the USA. Than sended back to europe, but never been sold. In Hanover, the first pressing plants run from oktober 1898, and the surface of records was not even good. They tried several ways in the begining, like mixing horse-hairs between the shellac mixture. But as you can see in the words: Patentirt... Prevets....above the middle hole, this is the one and only!!!! Absolutely unique. Only this record of No. 6000 known to exist!!
Bought from Mr. Stephan Puille, Berlin, two years ago.
Still plays very well.
