As a collector of Fairport and Sandy Denny, I have never seen this offered before: a test pressing of the band's best and most famous release. Widely considered to be the first breakthrough album for combining folk/traditional with amazing rock arrangements.

This is a test press of the album for US A&M. Has handwritten labels (see photos): don't worry that "Tam Lin" isn't listed on the label, as it is included! The matrix info: A&M-SP-4413 15 14590/A&M-SP-4414 15 14590.

Test pressings are very limited editions that were pressed for bands, record execs and sometimes reviewers prior to the official release. They are very hard to come by and this Fairport test press is the only one I've seen in over thirty years of record collecting.

It comes in a generic die cut white cardboard sleeve plus a single sheet reproduction of the US sleeve (inside is blank). This is a fabulously rare Fairport/Sandy collectible, so don't miss your chance to own it! The vinyl is VG, which means it has some occasional surface noise but not at all bad and no skips or warping. The slick paper wraparound sleeve is VG due to wrinkles and age staining.

I play rate all vinyl and am a conservative grader (some say down right picky). A purely visual inspection might be convenient for the seller but not necessarily for the buyer! I've been collecting vinyl for 30 years and know from experience that visually, a record might look mint but may play with alot of surface noise; some vinyl looks pretty bad but may sound terrific. So, playing all of the record- not just bits- is the way to go.
