Description
FREEWAY -- On The Road -- hard to find, original 1976 U.S. album. 1970's Polyester Funk-Lounge-Pop at its finest from this very obscure band out of California. Highlight here may be truly deranged version of "My Way" (yes, THAT "My Way") with funky stuttering wah-wah guitar in the background, so bizarre it's close to genius; you'll never hear the song the same way again. Running a close second on the groove meter is "Don't Change Horses (In Midstream)" w/ funky guitar, organ and horns and "Giddy-up, Giddy-up, Hi-Ho Silver ..." chorus. "Walkin' In Rhythm/Never Can Say Goodbye" and "Mountain Morning Medley" (which is actually "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," uncredited) also very groovy. Overall vibe is very mid-1970's. Album signed on front cover by band members. See photo for track listing. Cover: Good-, split halfway across top right seam, wear at top left corner, ring wear, stain on back cover bottom left. Record: VG-, light surface marks, light wear from storage in sleeve, one side slightly more concave, on white private press label, U.S. pressing.
