You are bidding on a BRAND NEW, MINT copy of the Freestyle Professors EP on Freestyle records from 1994.

This is a brand new, very limited Japanese repress obtained straight from a contact in Tokyo. The sound quality, as with all Japanese pressings is incredible (presumably sourced straight from the master tapes). 2 re-presses were manufactured in Japan. The first, with sticker sleeve sold out. This is the second pressing, which has now also sold out!

The EP is on many peoples most wanted lists. In its original form, there were very few pressed up and the real point of interest was a Showbiz production – “Down with the Freestyle Professors.”

The rest of the EP is amazing. The production from Branesparker is all horns and bass and rivals that of Showbiz himself. Branesparker also did production on the Geo & Ricochet “Don’t Sleep” 12” along with Showbiz.

“If you're on a quest for dope and rare records this untitled 8-track EP from the Freestyle Professors - which they put out independently in 1994 through their own label Freestyle Records - is certainly one you need to dig up. No information whatsoever about the Professors themselves, but with the crazy ass tracks on this record you need to focus 100% on the music.

Lyrical styles reminiscent of the stuff you used to hear in the late 80's and early 90's, with jazzy and funky productions all the way through. Nothing but flavor on this release, but my favorite tracks are the uptempo and jazzy "The hardcore villain" (this track's crazy ill), the 'dirty bounce mix' of "Down with the Freestyle Professors" and "Get wise". The production comes from Branesparker on most of the EP's tracks, but what makes this record extra special - definitely for all D.I.T.C. fans out there - is Showbiz's production work on both the 'radio bass version' and the 'dirty bounce mix' of "Down with the Freestyle Professors".

Over the past few years this has become one of the most wanted records in hip-hop. The fact that only a limited amount of copies were ever pressed, makes this a rare release and findin' a copy will definitely not be easy, especially not for a nice price…
