“If you're on a quest for dope and rare records this untitled 8-track EP from the Freestyle Professors - which they put out independently in 1994 through their own label Freestyle Records - is certainly one you need to dig up. No information whatsoever about the Professors themselves, but with the crazy ass tracks on this record you need to focus 100% on the music.

Lyrical styles reminiscent of the stuff you used to hear in the late 80's and early 90's, with jazzy and funky productions all the way through. Nothing but flavor on this release, but my favorite tracks are the uptempo and jazzy "The hardcore villain" (this track's crazy ill), the 'dirty bounce mix' of "Down with the Freestyle Professors" and "Get wise". The production comes from Branesparker on most of the EP's tracks, but what makes this record extra special - definitely for all D.I.T.C. fans out there - is Showbiz's production work on both the 'radio bass version' and the 'dirty bounce mix' of "Down with the Freestyle Professors".

Over the past few years this has become one of the most wanted records in hip-hop. The fact that only a limited amount of copies were ever pressed, makes this a rare release and findin' a copy will definitely not be easy, especially not for a nice price…


Well anyway, this is one strictly for the collectors out there. No matter how much you need to pay, you can be sure that this record is well worth it…”
