Description

FREEPORT – “self-titled” (1970) Mainstream-6130 original WHITE LABEL PROMO pressing VG-/Strong VG (cover/record)

Obscure sludgy hard psych rock release on the famous and sought after Mainstream label. It features dual lead guitars by Roger Lewis and Dennis Stredney, joined by drummer Bill Stalling, organist Kevin Raleigh and bassist Craig Holt. There’s very little info on these guys other than that I think they may have been from Cleveland. Bob Shad produced it.

This is an original pressing. The cover is pretty shot. It has splits that have been repaired with tape, it has some H20 damage/exposure and a little mold along with wrinkling, and there are few stickers on it and a little writing. The white label promo vinyl has a little water staining on one label and some scuffing toward the label on both sides of the album but plays through enjoyably well – better than it looks for sure. I’ve given this a low starting bid.. Conservative grading: VG-/Strong VG (cover/record).

I package all LPs securely in record mailers and remove the vinyl from the covers to prevent seam splits during mailing. I do not just stick your record in a priority mailer box from the post office or between two thin pieces of cardboard with no additional packaging materials like so many others!!!
