Description
Here's an original copy of FREEDOM'S CHILDREN - Astra, originally released 1970 in South Africa on Parlophone PCSJ(D) 12066. Not only for me one of the best heavy psychedelic albums ever made. A true world class monster from beginning to end and one of those records which will represent that musical aera in hundred years. Originals are rare as golddust and mint copies are not in existence. This is a still highly enjoyable copy....and don't forget...original is original!! Soundwise it beats every existing reissue or CD for miles!!!!
Condition record: vg(-), it does not look tooo bad. It has a lot of visual hairlines and paperscuffs, the one or another surface mark but no deep scratches. Was played on a rather tweedy turntable I bet. It plays amazingly fresh and dynamic with constant but not to disturbing background noises in the quieter parts. Plays often much better. One mark on side 1 and another ugly looking on side 2 causes a click on 5-6 turns. Really very listenable and of course no sticks or jumps.
Condition sleeve: vg-, the laminated gatefold suffers from these typical lamination problems showing all south african albums from that time (has to do with the air humidity there, sounds logical). General lamination lifting but nothing's missing. Not to bad spine- but more cornerwear. Torn and taped on right bottom of back. The inside of the gatefold is vg. Backspine is perfect readable!!!!.
