Set of 3 Mercury Promotional picture discs of Frankie Laine with Carl Fischer's Swingtet.   # 1026, 1027, & 1028 and are the Mercury A-22 album of 1947.   Very, very rare.   Indeed, these are the rare picture disc set, not the 3 normal, black commercial A-22 set.     Unfortunately, the album cover is not available, just the records.    In Jerry Osborne's 2016 record price guide, these are individually valued and referred to as promotional, although not marked as such:  -- #1026 & #1027 are valued at $500 to $750, each.    #1028 is valued at $750 to $1000.   Playing fields are VISUALLY graded VG+ (marks & scratches commenserate with age, but nothing serious), and when played are VG to VG+ with some surface noise throughout - but not all that distracting.  Each record has Frankie's early bio.  A nice touch with the "Greetings Mr. Platter Spinner - I'm Little Eddie the Mercury Man", (when have you ever seen him as a person??)   The music sounds more like a lounge act with a small jazz combo, but quite impressive.  The bio mentions that in 1946, Frankie landed his first break at Billy Berg's night club in Hollywood, and soon Mercury contracted him.  These 78's are from 1947.  Almost overnight success!!  Any questions, please ask before bidding.   No reserve.  Have fun bidding --Bid high and often!!!                      *********    ***************
