From the stupendous Mothers1971 Fillmore Live album was taken this valiant but doomed attempt to take The Mothers to Top Of The Pops.

Quite why record executives occassionally tried to make a singles band out of Zappa and/or The Mothers is a real puzzle. Zappa's love of big dumb pop though was well known and, to be fair, this cut was very close to the sound of Flo & Eddie's Turtles and might actually have stood a chance. But no. Another 45 disappeared into the void,
What makes this record extra notable though is that the B-Side "Junier Mintz Boogie" was not available on any other format. Thus, for Zappa collectors, it has added urgency.
Just how many copies of this record were actually pressed up thirty-seven years ago is debatable. I have seen a promo of it before on eBay but, to my knowledge, never a regular shop stock copy.
This is one.
The disc is in superb condition, as clean and glossy as one could wish. There are NO scratches scuffs or digs to this vinyl - in fact I am hard pressed to locate any hairlines even.
The Reprise labels and company bag are completely as new.
From a remarkable album comes this almost untypically joyous and upbeat Zappa performance together with it's hyper-rare flipside - on sale again at last.
At least this one should sell Frank....
